The Computer Literacy General Education requirement at Henry Ford
Community College states that all graduates will be able to:
- Utilize a computer and its software to accomplish practical
tasks, including word processing and Internet
usage.
Computer Literacy
Degree Requirement
The Computer Literacy requirement for the
associate's degree requirement can be satisfied by successful completion
of an approved Computer Literacy Course (see approved courses below)
or passage of the Computer Literacy Test. To take the Computer Literacy
Test, students enroll in CLT 100, which meets once to administer
the test.

Students first enrolled before Fall 2005 may choose to meet either the prior General Education requirements (approved in 2001) or the current requirements. However, all students applying to graduate after May 2008 must meet the General Education requirements above.
Computer Literacy Test
Students who do not take one of the approved courses
in their program of study may elect to take the Computer Literacy
Test by enrolling for CLT 100 - Computer Literacy Test.
Students enroll
for CLT 100 like any other course, but it meets only once for one
hour for the testing process. CLT 100 has no tuition charge, but
does have a lab fee of $30.
Students who do not pass the test may retake it or take one of the
approved CLR courses.
